Make sure to cover the entire official study material at least twice. Once you are done with it, you can study other resources such as the Manhattan Guides, Veritas study material, GMAT club, Beat the GMAT, Thursdays with Ron, etc. ... View more

Hi Pranav,
Engineering is generally preferred. The other option can be BBA. Most of the students in IIMs are from good engineering colleges.
If you are opting for any non-engineering course, then my recommendation would be to go only if you are getting into a top college for that course.

Crack CAT or Nothing,

The preparation period depends from person to person. Some people will have strong mathematical skills but low language skills and vice versa also. Some people will be strong in both so as compared to previous category they require less time for preparation. First, find out your strong and weak areas and plan according to it. Also, dedication and determination matters a lot in your preparation period.
If you are planning to take MBA from US, you need a very high GMAT score which means, very high preparation. If you are strong in both Mathematics and English language, a 3 months of preparation will be enough to crack GMAT.
All the best.
