PES University accepts students through PESSAT and KCET. 60% students are from PESSAT and 40 % are from KCET. If there are free seats remaining at the end of second round then the seats are accepted through COMEDK. Again if there are free seats remaining after 2nd round in COMEDK then JEE Mains ranks are considered. So my point is you can't get in through JEE because seats get full after 2nd round in PESSAT itself KCET students are excluded in this.

The institute does not welcome the CBSE/AIEEE directly without the JEE scores. Therefore, JEE Main rank is mandatory to take the standard admission in the case of those who do not hold a diploma; however, the holders have the right to avoid it, gaining direct second-year admission, referring to eligibility regulations.</p>
