Shortlisted candidates from subsidised and non-subsidised categories have to appear for the selection rounds at given date and time. Definitely, English honors in BA helps you in doing MA in English. But if you have completed your graduation, your score in English must be better. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test.

JNU conducts entrance exam for every course. JNU will release a notification and ask the applicants to apply for the same and request them to attend the entrance exam. After that, on the basis of score in the entrance, JNU publishes a list of successful candidates and asks them to came and confirm their seat.

For securing admission into IIT pure sciences & Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, there are separate open tests that need to be cleared. Most of the other universities allot admission based on merit linked to scores in 12th standard.
