No, there's no other exam for taking admission in Punjabi University apart from JEE Mains.
PU conducts Punjab B.Tech Admission through a centralised counselling process. This university does not conduct any entrance exam for admissions to the B.Tech programmes. Admissions are based on JEE Main scores and ranks and a candidate's performance in class 12th.

Hi Tushar,
At this much rank you will get any branch except CSE, IT or ECE in first category but you can get admission in these branches in second category. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank, and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there are 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, but you have to pay more for that.

In my opinion, you don't need any type of separate book for your preparation. Just go thorough with your subject by assuming that your a commerce student. Practice some quantitative, verbal and logical reasoning. Entrance test is quite so easy, asked Math question are of 10th level and most of the questions are from logical reasoning. However the following books can be refers for better confidence.
1. Quantitative Aptitude by R S Aggarwal.
2. Arihants Fast Track Objective Arithmetic
3. Magical Book On Quicker Maths
4. Objective General English by S P Bakshi
