To secure admission to a government medical college through NEET as an OBC candidate, a score of 480-500 or higher is generally required, although it varies each year based on factors like competition and seat availability. The qualifying percentile for OBC candidates is the 40th percentile, which in recent years corresponded to a score range of 161-127. However, achieving just the qualifying marks is insufficient for admission, so aiming for a higher score significantly boosts the chances of securing a seat.

The requirements for selection differ depending on the course. The institute administers its entrance exam, even though some programmes, like MBBS, require legitimate NEET-UG scores, while other programmes, like BSc and MSc, do not. Candidates must take the NEET-UG exam in order to be considered for admission to the flagship MBBS programme. After submitting an application through the JIPMER Puducherry website, candidates with valid NEET-UG scores or ranks can proceed to the counselling round, which is run by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare's Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Hello dear, if you got 250 in NEET and you want private college it is kind of impossible because the cutoff for private colleges are 300. You can try for deemed university where the fees starts from 15,00,000 /- to 30,00,000 /-. I suggest that you should take 1 year drop and re appear for NEET.
