For IAS preparation it would be good if you pursue your BA in the subjects like history, public administration, economics, constitution and geography and among these I think geography and public Administration are the most popular optional subjects for the Mains examination and accounts for nearly 50% share in the final Mains result.
In fact, UPES University of Dehradun has come up with a special IAS oriented BA programme for students to study BA in public administration along with IAS coaching and test preparation. This clearly signals that most of IAS aspirants prefer this subject in their BA.

Hello,
Hope you are doing well. I suggest you not to drop for an year because you have less marks in JEE and you will again start form scratch to get an IIT. Drop will waste your 1 year and the competition will be higher in upcoming years. Go for some good private college with your favourite branch and do well there. All the best.

Knowledge is meant to be shared,

Coaching does nothing, it is only for the problems that you come across and can't be able to solve it by your own. Self-study is the best study and no one can beat that the only thing required for the JEE is smart work rather than hard work and for that only coaching institutes charge so much of fees.

Hello Arkadeep, Of course there will be coaching classes which will be conducting coaching or prepare students for IMUCET. However Shiksha platform does not permit the counselors to recommend any one of the commercially available coaching centres with name. But I am sure Google can come to your rescue and you can find coaching centres in your town or if it is not there then some agency or coaching class which can do a postal coaching for you. Best wishes to you.
