Don't worry much about time, just concentrate on what you are studying in school and coaching. Apart from that just revise what are you studying daily and do practice as much you can whenever you get the time and don't forgot to take a good sleep of 7-8 hours.

The Staff Selection Commission does not mention the weightage of the topics within the sections. The candidates are suggested to prepare all the topics mentioned in the official syllabus. It depends on individual's ability and previous knowledge to prepare for any entrance test. The best way is to take a mock test and find your strengths and gaps. Then you may start working with a plan and coaching. There are many options available these days like online tutoring, offline classes or mix of both. You may take 3 to 6 months and do take lot of mock tests before your final exam.

Now, for the first year. Download your GATE syllabus and previous year paper for mathematics and any other subject which is there in your first year. Now, don't be tensed much. Just keep doing your college on a regular basis and keep learning the concepts, even the smallest one especially for mathematics and if any other subject you have in your first year according to GATE syllabus. Explore the college and course you wish to pursue. Check the exam pattern and syllabus. Start your preparations along with boards (domain subjects will be covered). Dedicate time for language and general test. Start solving previous year's papers and take mocks after finishing each chapter. Read your NCERT text book thoroughly!

NEST 2018 exam pattern is such that the question paper will contain five sections carrying multiple choice questions.
First section of NEST 2018 is mandatory for all candidates. Out of the other four sections, candidates need to attempt any three sections.
