With a NEET 2024 score of 361, chances of getting admitted to any government medical college in the state of Uttar Pradesh or other states would be really tough. Cutoffs in government colleges are pretty high and go beyond 500 in many cases. But for you, perhaps, that would be an opportunity from private medical colleges or management quotas, whose cutoffs are generally lower. It's a good idea to get specific cutoffs for colleges of interest; they change each year, depending upon the overall performance of the candidates and seats available.

Hi Neha,
In NEET's form, if its asked percentage then put as numbers. For example, if you have 90% in in 12th, then put 90%. You have to fill the percentage in numbers not as words.

Dropping for NEET is a best option only if you really want to be a Doctor. Apart from it on before dropping you should be thorough with the mistakes you have done so that those mistakes should not be carried forward and apart from hardwork believe in smart work such that you can easily clear NEET in next attempt.
Good luck.

442 is a very decent score, and you may face difficulties in getting a government seat despite belonging to the SC category. As you have not mentioned your state, we are talking in general terms only. Although you still have chances of getting a government college, as the cutoffs for the reserved category are lower than others. If you wish to get admission in a private college, you can easily get a reputed college with this score.

With a NEET 2024 score of 400, it's tough to get a government MBBS seat in Telangana under the EWS quota, as the cutoff is around 520+. Even with an ESI card, chances are slim for free seats. You can consider management quota or private colleges if you're set on pursuing MBBS this year.

With a rank of 300,000 to 400,000 in NEET and 400 marks, getting admission in a government medical college is really difficult. In general, the cut-offs are usually higher in most government colleges, and your rank will not be up to the mark for such colleges. Some colleges might accept scores around this level, but only in less competitive states. It's worth considering private medical colleges since they can provide better prospects at this score level.

Hi Gouri,
Until this year the medical entrance exam for undergraduate students occured only once in May. But now it has been recently known that it will occur 2 times a year. That is, first will come in May and the 2nd in August. But again, this rule will be applied from next year. And this NEET exam twice a year is a good thing for undergraduate students. Like if any student is not able to achieve good marks in his first try then he do not have to wait for the whole year as he can reapply in 6 months.

Hi Raj,
You cannot compare these two examinations. If you are keen to work with Indian Army as a doctor, then go for AFMC Otherwise, NEET. Both have different needs, like after NEET, you would be working with the local public directly. On the other hand, after AFMC, you would be attached to different Army units across the nation and work with them.
