Although dropping a year is a good idea if you focus only on studies the whole year continuously, regularly and consistently.

If you don't want to join any coaching centre, then you should watch the NPTEL videos which are very good from GATE point of view. Yes, the question often gets repeated in UPSC prelims. I am giving you an example. In prelims 2020, UPSC asked, "Which part of the Constitution of India declares the ideal of a welfare state? "
This question was taken from the 2015 paper in which it asked, "The ideal of a 'Welfare State' in the Indian Constitution is enshrined in its. "
The answer to both is the same: the directive principles of state policy (DPSP). As you can SEE changing the language or asking in a different way does not change the core question. I am giving you a list of the most frequently asked topics in prelims papers:

Many candidates have scored good by only practicing sample papers, but that is not the ideal way of JMI preparation for all candidates. To crack the JMI exam, the candidates must prepare with the help of books and tutorials for conceptual clarity and then move to practicing sample papers. Many candidates who've attempted the JMI exam before can practice only sample papers and score high because they already have conceptul clarity. However, those attempting the JMI for the first time must give equal importance to both books and sample papers.

The NIFT admission committee may take student queries in case the NIFT exam is conducted as a remote-proctored exam. In this case, special hotlines may be created to help the candidate get their system in place. But note that as of now, there is no notification yet whether the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will conduct mock tests or not. The institute will release the relevant notification, if needed, on its official website, once the admission process gets underway. In the NIFT 2022 exam, when the exam was held in a remote-proctored mode, candidate were allowed to ask queries during the mock test.
