Yes, if you are planning to take the GRE and IELTS exams in December, starting your preparation now is a good idea. It gives you enough time to prepare thoroughly, practice, and identify areas where you need improvement. You have about 7-8 months to prepare, which should be sufficient if you are consistent and disciplined in your approach. With this amount of time, you can divide your preparation period into several phases, such as building foundational skills, content review, practice, and test-day preparation. You can use study materials such as GRE and IELTS prep books, online courses, and practice tests to help you prepare. In addition... View more

Hi Muskan,
You can opt for any course for your UG programme, as the field of education doesn’t really matter, when you apply for a UPSC exam. What matters is that, you should be a graduate and how you perform in the exam. To prepare for the exam, refer to class 9th to class 12th NCERT books of Geography, History and Civics. Read at least 2 newspapers daily, and join the mock test series in order to clear the exam.

Plastic Mould Design Engineer,

You can start preparation for GPSC if it is your primary goal. But don't compensate for it in your BE. Make a proper schedule and study according to that. You have 3 years in your hand and they are plenty if time management is right. I would suggest solving sample papers and old papers at weekends to both test yourself and get familiar with pattern and syllabus.
