It won't be a good decision to take one more drop for JEE. Its better to join a decent engineering college through your JEE Mains score. Because drop will affect you in your career in later stages if you are not able to clear JEE next time. So, in my view, you must join a engineering college this year.

In the book by Dubey and Maheshwari, there is a little less explanation of specific topics, especially the general microbiology part. Whereas, the book by Ananthanarayan and Paniker, is presented in a simple understanding language and manner. This book is more useful, hence I would suggest you to go for this one.

Hi,
It is not so easy to crack CAT. You have to work hard and take time to study, if you are currently a degree student. There are good books available right now, like:
1. Arun Sharma authored books.
2. Arihant publications.
3. RS Agarwal.
4. Word power made easy by Norman Lewis.

The questions of CBSE and IIT are bit different. If you think that you can manage coaching and school smartly and you can score better, then you should go for coaching. Also it would be better if you could manage studying for IIT JEE exams.

You need to put some additional effort for VA section. For other sections i would suggest you to go through the basics in couple of months and start practicing questions. In case of VA, the basics of English, tenses, usage can be learnt from basic reading material provided by CAT prep books. After than i would suggest you to practice RC from readtheory.org where you can build you reading comprehension skills with time. After gaining a bare threshold, start giving mocks, analyze them and repeat till the D-Day.
All the best

No, there will be no issue as such. For technical UG courses students usually prefer to enhance their score if they won't got it just after 12, but for non-tech UG courses students usually get admission in the same year as well.

Automobile design is a very esoteric topic. Italian designers are most sought after. Many of them are students of fine arts and look from aesthetic point of view. Others are doing research in IC engines some are doing research in hybrid tech. I would suggest you do graduation in mechanical, then you can pursue M.Tech in machine design.

Being an engineer and cracking the CAT exam with a good score are two different things. There is no internal connection between them. It is not necessary for you to be an engineer to score well in your CAT. Also, if you're targeting an IIM and you're a non-engineer, the cut-off for you will be less as compared to the engineers. The number of months required to crack the CAT exam depends on your skills and abilities but generally, it takes around 8-9 months to do well in your CAT.

Sr. Section Engr(Design),

IESE is considered as one of the toughest examinations in India due to fewer posts and high competition. Owing to highly competitive selection procedure, the examination constitutes a two-stage written examination followed by an interview. The best ways is to go through the previous years of papers. Practicing previous year question papers helps in analyzing the weak topics and concentrate more on those topics. Always try to solve the papers in given time to obtain an idea that how many questions you are able to solve in given time limits.
