There's no need to waste a year. Listen, scoring high in JEE Mains is not a tough thing. It only requires your obidience. Covering all your chapters thoroughly in class 12 will help you. Maths requires intense practice, even in easy chapters like boolean algebra and matrices. Physics requires conceptions to be cleared; and that you can do only if you study the whole year in class 12. Chemistry requires byhearting the things, even in organic section you may have to byheart many a things. Try taking as many mock tests as you and focus on your weaker areas. Revise the topics and subjects you think you are weak at. Do not start a new topic in the last few days.

CAT exam, based on toppers view. Initially, you have to prepare for three months like quants, etc. Later, prefer coaching institutes like TIMES, IMS and Career Launcher. Finally, solve old question papers of CAT. Improve your problem-solving skills.

You can take preparation from 3rd year (middle) at least take a maths book of practice (old) and solve it regularly. Also, download 'The Hindu Editorial' and 'Economic Times' regularly to get updated with financial market news and brush up your English for the entrance exam and practice spoken English also for GDPI. I would request you to take admission through higher CAT /XAT score. Feel free to write.

Yes, it's a fact of life that not all have resources. But have faith in yourself & determination. What is actually required us perseverance and sincere efforts at studies. There are many students who do not join any class but pass & there are plenty of students who take coaching classes but still do not pass. No, work experience is not compulsory. However, a couple of IIMs give extra points to students with work ex.
Regarding preparations, the earlier you start the better it is since there are a lot of things that come with practice. You should at least give 8-12 months for a proper preparation and join a test series for sure. TIME coaching has a good test series. It starts around 4-5 months before the CAT date.
