It is really not necessary to prepare for CAT exam what ever you learn and experience in your MBA programme 85% of the questions will be asked in CAT and remaining 15% will be other. Start thinking practical and logical don't just read them like a kid try to understand and solve the cases like you are the owner and you need to solve the obstacles in business by this way one can have extreme knowledge on business management so that CAT exam can be easily solved by you. :). .

Hello Abhay,
There is no need to take a year's drop to solely prepare for the CAT exam as it takes around 6-months of diligent preparation to clear CAT. There are still some exams left like CMAT, CET and MAT through which you can get into some reputed B-Schools. However, if your aim is to get admitted into an IIM or a top non-IIM, then only I would advise to take a drop and prepare for CAT. Though you can give the aforementioned exams if you wish. All the best!

For a 10th student I must suggest that he/she should first focus on his marks in 10th 12th and UG course because you can't just get selected for IIM by just cracking CAT. Evaluation of 10th 12th UG marks are done alongside with the CAT clearance for selection at IIM. For the preparations, Usually aspirants start from the last year of college but if you want to do it early you can do it after 12th.

I am Ruchi Singh Baghel.,

I don't think that you should go Kota for JEE Mains preparation because in Delhi only there are so many institutes. I would like to tell you one thing that everything depends on your efforts and your self study. Any of the coaching is not responsible for your selection because faculties show you the path, they guide you. now it depends on you that you have to walk on that path or not.
So the conclusion is join any of the best institute in Delhi only and give your complete effort you will easily crack out your JEE.

Before you study any course related book, read Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis. This is one single book, which if read dedicatedly will do wonders with your vocabulary and critical reading skills. Once you complete this, you can go for traditional Barron's and Princeton Review, etc.

Hi Aditi, you may do so. The sooner you prepare the better it is. It will also save you from additional gap years in future which you might require for your test preparation. However be aware about validity. GRE scores are valid for five years while TOEFL scores are valid for 2 years.

Hi Aishwarya,
Technical aspect is what you need to focus on, no matter in which stream you are in engineering because students often run after percentage(doesn't mean you score only 50-55%, you need to fulfill minimum eligibility criteria to sit for an interview) in there graduation without cementing their technical skills and in the end though they have a good percentage but they are not able to crack the technical round of most of the companies.

Hey,
Just JEE for 1 year would be really helpful if you wanna get into engineering. Just focus on JEE prep work. Or, you can go ahead with B.Sc if u want to go to research field or such. But both would rather be cumbersome as you won't be able to give enough time to both simultaneously. Rest is your call.
All the best.

Since you plan to give CAT after three years ,it would be better to now concentrate on your M.Sc & try and score well. Preparation for CAT doesn't require more than 6 months of sincere effort. CAT exams are normally conducted between Nov & Feb ,so one should start preparing 6 months prior to the date of the open test.
Since you plan to pursue MBA after 3 years it is advisable that you pick up a work assignment & gain valuable experience .This work experience will come to your advantage during the campus placement process at MBA
