HelloIndia's biggest airline by marketshare IndiGo has hiked salaries of its pilots by 8% and cabin crew by 16% on average, maintaining a gap between itself and its rivals, said a source in the know.
Now a first officer will get Rs 2.61 lakh monthly for flying his stipulated 50 hours. He can get Rs 3.3 lakh if he flies for 90 hours. A senior first officer will get Rs 3.75 lakh for 70 hours of flying which can go up to Rs 4.3 lakh if he does 90 hours. A captain will get Rs 6.01 lakh for 70 hours and over Rs 7 lakh for 90 hours.

By the way it's a hard and a challenging job. It depends on your spirit to keep up the 300 hours of flying a plane to obtain your CPL-"commercial pilot license ". After you complete your 12th taking science as your core subject with at least 50% marks in your physics and mathematics you get qualified to enter the flying school. There you have to pass a strict medical exam with a good eye site of 6/6 and good hearing capability. Then comes the question of money. Well you need to have PCM in 10+2 level. Apply for various CPL institutions. Clear the medical tests. I would suggest doing it from Canada as it is cheaper than USA. Please for God's sake don't do it from Philippines as most Aviation Companies have blacklisted most of their institutions for malpractices. The cost would be around 24-27L in INR but once you get the admission papers in hand, trust me, banks will run after you to approve your loan. It won't be difficult to repay either.
