Psychiatrists are doctors who graduate from medical school, they have a year of medical internship, and have 3 years of residency in the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders.
Psychologists have a doctoral degree in an area of psychology, the study of the mind and human behavior. They are not medical doctors. A psychologist can have a PhD in philosophy or a PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology. They do 1-2 years of internship. Unlike psychiatrists, psychologists are also trained in giving psychological tests such as IQ tests or personality tests. Psychiatrists can prescribe medication but psychologist can't.

Although every branch of Psychology offers some sort of good career but still, people are showing more orientation towards Clinical Psychology. That is really a very huge subject and it turns your career onto the path of growth. I would prefer Clinical Psychology because of its utility in this modern stressful era. Clinical psychology takes general psychology a step further. While psychologists study the fundamentals of mental behaviors and processes, clinical psychologists apply these principles in real-world situations. They translate basic concepts into practical approaches that are used to diagnose and treat mental illnesses or disorde... View more

The best training for copy-editing is OJT and mentoring. If possible, you should try to get work at a publishing house. For an entry level position, they usually give you some sort of test to see what aptitude you might have for the work, and then give you training.
However, increasingly the opportunities in this field are freelance, and not full-time permanent positions at publishing houses. Indeed, unless you are in a publishing center such as any or Boston, full-time positions may be almost impossible to get. This creates a chicken and egg problem: One cannot get work without having had experience, but one cannot get experience wit... View more
