CMA is a pretty good option, an international certification sought after by employers globally and has a wide demand in India as well. It is offered by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) USA and the content is regularly reviewed by the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA). However, you can pursue CMA only after your Bachelor's degree preferably B.Com, BBA and BMS.

Select the course based on your interest. If you think costing, budgeting, forecasting and strategic budgeting, etc. Is your forte, CMA will be the right option. But, incase you want to get your hands on general management (or specialize in business sales, marketing, etc. ), go for MBA/MBA with specialisation.

An engineering student IIITian,

IIIT is good choice but again there is a good private college LNMIIT. For CS LNMIIT is good. IIIT is a brand but there are some IIIT who are actually worth it. You can trust with LNMIIT if fees is not your concern because there fees is 1.5 lakhs per semester which increases in further years and is much more than IIIT. If you go for IIIT then also that will be a wise decision. Thapar is again good but cost is even more high. Better to opt for IIIT or LNMIIT.

You can appear for various interviews and off campus placement. You can appear for exams like UPSC etc. There are some government schemes like Atal Vyavasaya Yojna and Modi's youth training programs etc. But, that is a question even most engineers do not have answer to, so they usually switch their streams to MBA, LL.B, etc.

Yes, you can still become a company secretary. Accounting has nothing to do with mathematics. At best, you will hit basic arithmetic (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and division if you make it into management), but you will never be asked to find the derivative of a multivariable function. In school, all the calculations you perform will be on the calculator, and in the workplace, it’s all computer-based. If I woke up tomorrow and realized I forgot all the math I learned in high school, I wouldn't hesitate to show up for work, knowing that I could still do my job.
At the same time, you have to be comfortable with numbers. You wonâ... View more
