Hello Karpagalakshmi Padmarajan, this college for women had reported cutoffs around 60 in previous years. Considering this, i am sure that you will get admission since you have a score of 73. No, as a student from Tamil Nadu, you cannot get admission to any government college in Kerala without writing KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical) entrance exam. KEAM is the mandatory entrance exam for admission to engineering colleges in Kerala. However, some private colleges in Kerala may have their own entrance exams or may consider JEE Main scores for admission.

When we use the term IT, generally, it doesn't replicate IT stream for any course i.e. BE/ B.Tech, it specifies IT industry as a whole which includes both CSE and IT. The answer to your question is CSE is more preferred as compared to IT as options for the job profiles are little higher for CSE.

I know parents are from different generation than children & hence many a time’s views do not match. But I would like to advise you that please follow your heart and go for arts. There innumerable opportunities in this as well as other fields also. In fact 50% fresh engineering graduates could not get placements including some from IIT's also.
