With the current competition level, advanced digitisation and increased use of RTI services, I don't think it is too easy for any company to hire candidates just based on acquaintances. Even if selected, the chances of the student being terminated are higher during or after the probation period if the candidate possesses the skill set a company requires. And, if a student already has the skill set a company is looking for, the chances of his/her recruitment is much higher without needing any acquaintances. First of all, you have to clear all the necessities for getting admission into Jadavpur University, i.e. 60% marks in PCM and 30% marks in English besides of passing in each subject in board exams etc. And, your WBJEE rank must be under 200, even better if you get it under 150. Last year, the opening rank for CSE in Jadavpur University was 1, where the closing rank was 195. That is all. You can check the official OR-CR here.

Current Student- DTU, Delhi,

As from my experience, CSE in NIT Manipur would be a good option for you.
CSE is not so famous in IIIT, Sri City and also placement in IIIT is about 60-70% for CSE.
But, in NIT Manipur, placement in CSE goes up to 100%.

UPES is far better than Maharshi Markandeshwar University. UPES has a good number of companies visiting there for placement and also has a good reputation in India. Campus and faculties are excellent there.

The choice of the engineering branch depends on your interest.
Below mentioned are the reasons:
1. Market conditions vary every 6 months to 1 year. Engineering is a 4-year course. There is a high chance that the field which looks the most promising at the time of taking admission might not be good when you complete your engineering.

There are two branches in computer science; one is computer science and 2nd one is computer science with cloud technology and both are conducted in inurture which are providing the best faculty for all subjects and subjects are also good related to emerging technologies and placement also awesome in Poornima University. Last year, the computer science package was 7 lakh. All the best.
