Computer Science is related to the Software and Electronics is related to the Hardware. Some Electronic and Electrical engineering also work in software companies though.

That would be a waste actually because he won't get seats in good colleges with marks and secondly he has comparted in maths.
He should try other things like normal graduation, etc.
Good luck to your friend.

Admissions in Tamil Nadu are given fundamentally to the students who are native of Tamilnadu or to some other students meeting the criteria. But from what you have written I do not think that your son is meeting this criteria and hence your son's dream of studying in this college appears to be headed nowhere. As per my experience, I've seen the CSE department of JGEC is very strong. They take classes regularly and the teachers are good enough. In fact, I've seen them helping students a lot with their academics as well as career.
I've heard little of CSE department of KGEC.
If you consider the distance of college from Kolkata (main city), then choose KGEC over JGEC.
But if you solely want the best in CSE, then I think you should choose JGEC.

I would suggest you to go with cloud technology and information because it has better scope then CS in future. Cloud computing is an information technology (IT) paradigm that enables ubiquitous access to shared pools of configurable system resources and higher-level services that can be rapidly provisioned with minimal management effort, often over the internet.
