Yes, you are right. MBM, Jodhpur is the topmost college of RTU, and is one of the top most government colleges of Rajasthan after IIT Jodhpur and MNIT Jaipur. MBM is better because of its placements. The average package there is 4 LPA which is a good one as compared to other RTU colleges which have much less placements records. Moreover, CSE is its most important and highly placed branch.

CSE in NIT-Bhopal is better than chemical engineering in Surat, no matter that NIT-Surat is far better than NIT-Bhopal, but taking core branch is highly beneficial than taking a non-core branch.
At present, CSE is saturated with so many students who pass out every year, and the tech companies don't differentiate between electronics, IT, Computer and electrical. So, there is a competition from other branches as well in CSE. A lot of my friends who were into these streams have ended up doing MBA. (When you eventually wanted to do MBA, why did you join Science stream? Could have taken commerce. So, many students who are ranked low at entrance exams are deprived as these people occupy their seats.
Anyways, civil has tremendous scope in many fields. Be it construction, transport, geotechnical, fluid mechanics, repair and maintenanc... View more
Let me be honest, I am a student from CSE department. Actually CSE is considered to be a subject which provides you assured placement and that too with very higher package than any other branch. Basically, it guarantees you a peaceful and prosperous life ahead; at least in terms of money. And who does not want to secure his/her future? So the main reason is pretty clear!
However some top students do take CSE as they have a lot of interest in it. Some top students also take physics, engineering physics and other branches too because they are interested in those topics. Also, the best coders on Codechef maximum time is from CSE departme... View more

Hello Nitish,
CGC, Landran is better than GNOIT as CGC has good faculty, more good students, Good placement, nice facilities and more exposure so you can join CGC, Landran.
One thing more that is CGC, Landran is affiliated to UGC and GNOIT is affiliated to ATKU so UGC is more valued in comparison to state affiliation body.
The average package of B.Tech in CS from this college is around INR. 6 LPA for the pass-out batch 2013-2017 and for the IT is around INR. 5.45 LPA.
If you are quite sure that you can do better next time and will work hard.
Then, it is worth to take drop and get some good college next year.
But, if you are not ready to sacrifice again for another year it is good to join NITs, since there are chances for you to get top NITs. Last decision should be yours.

Hello Naresh, These days one has to clear some or the other CET to get admission in an engineering college. Of course some deemed to be universities entice students who are in top 20 Percentile of the board with this CET waiver. Else approach a private college for seat in management quota. This may be your only chance.

SRM University is a self financing, totally for profit institution. Every thing is a revenue making model. Low quality food is served in hostels so that students will eat junk food at Java Green again owned by goons of the university. It is recently in news for defrauding large number of students to the tune of 90 crores and the owner cum chancellor is arrested and the final verdict is yet to be given in the court of law. The internal marks are 50- which you can buy in some departments. There is allegations that the question papers are leaked or compromised in many instances. You should take admission in HIT. Good luck.
