Hi, it is difficult to get CSE in the top 3 colleges with two thousand ranks but if you want to get into only these colleges you can try for other branches, else you can approach another college too.

There were total of 34 students who got their branch slided in 2015 including me.
The criteria is very simple,you must have CGPA of above 8.5 in first two semesters with no Backlog papers.Official statement is in any branch ,a total of 10 percentage increment of total sanctioned strength of that branch can be accommodated through sliding.
Like ECE has sanctioned strength of 90 so a total of 9 students can get slided to ECE from other branches.

Cut off marks for admission to a diploma varies from one state to another state and also for different category of persons based on caste. In general, with special reference to Tamil nadu State ,I can give the MAX-MIN% cut off for different category.However, this may vary slightly upwards/downwards.
OC and forward caste persons is 100 to 80% of total marks in SSLC/SSC(10th class)
SC or ST is PASS % of total marks.in SSLC/SSC(10th class)

As you have mentioned that you have got 98% in boards and taking into consideration that you have secured 88 percentile in JEE Mains, so let me tell you sastra University doesn't have any cut off as a merit list will be prepared by the college authorities. On the basis of this merit list you would be admitted to the college. 70% weightage is given to JEE Mains and 30% weightage was given to 12th boards. Furthermore it depends on certain factors like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, difficulty level of JEE Mains paper.

You would be eligible to all available branches VIT offers. The only difference is that the choice of branch in day 1 counselling close with what rank. You have to check on their website to find your desired programme and majors. But, also remember that fees for international students may not be as same or as low. To do Engineering, you should have passed 12th with PCM stream, then to qualify for good engineering colleges, you have to take JEE Mains and JEE advance.and for computer science you should have good score I.e80+ %.and Computers as optional in 11th and 12th.

If you want to pursue your education in IT or any computer related course then it is a good college for you. If you have some other options in mind then I should prefer you to look at some other choices available to you. Out of all the recruiters that came for campus placements in GEU, 70% of them are IT and computer application related companies. The course structure is good, campus life is awesome. Coming to the fee structure, I think it's too costly, you can afford some other good colleges of better standards at 70% fee as compared to GEU.
