The choice of the engineering branch depends solely on your own interest. Opt for the field you're interested in rather than market trends.
Below mentioned are the reasons:
1. Market conditions vary every 6 months to 1 year. Engineering is a 4 year course. There is a high chance that the field which looks the most promising at the time of taking admission might not be good when you complete engineering.

Based on previous years (2020) allotment of seats, on such rank you can get seat in CMR Institute of Technology because in 2020, the closing rank for OC-Boys was around 86,000.
Though if you belong to reserved category, you may have chances, this is completely based on previous year data, cut-offs vary every year based on multiple factors such as seat intake, difficulty level of the paper, number of candidates appearing for the examination etc.
It is not possible for this rank. But, MBM is still no 1 regional college. Though it is lacking in number of professor students out there are hardworking and getting decent ranks in GATE IES and other prestigious exams. The cutoff of NIE for CSE (General Merit) through KCET last year was 1872 in first round 2000 in second round and increased to about 3000 in second extended and casual round.
In the previous years as well the cutoff was 2979, 3156, 2699 and hence within the 3k mark. The opening ranks will be as high as 1.2k to 1.4k. (This is just regarding GM category)

Previous year closing rank for VIT is 7000, so if your rank is below 7000, then you can get admission.
