There are basically 4 sections in Bank exam - Verbal Ability, DILR, Quants and GK.
Verbal Ability:
Start reading newspaper daily to increase your reading speed and grasping power. It will also help you to get in touch with basic vocab. Don't miss out the editorial page. Do a proper analysis of articles on the editorial page. Try to make a summary of articles that you read para by para. You can switch to the book called WORD POWER MADE EASY by NORMAN LEWIS.

There is neither exact syllabus nor any book for the preparation of civil service exams.
However, for preparation, coaching notes, current affairs, daily newspapers and other ideal books for UPSC is a boost for the preparation. Current affairs are very important. In this year's UPSC Prelims, more than 40 questions came from current affairs and also around 20 from ancient history and medieval.

If you want to go Koto, then Vibrant, Allan, Resonance, Etoos , CP is best.
If you want to go to SIKAR, then Kotilay and Metrix is best.
You should go to Sikar, Rajasthan.
Sikar is better than Kota.

Important tips for CLAT :
1) Attempt previous year sample papers.
2) Know the updated pattern of CLAT.
3) Give online or offline mock tests.
4) Analyse your strengths and weaknesses.
5) You need to put more work into the legal section.
6) Practice your shortcuts well and be clear with all fundamentals.
7) Remember the larger goal- Not only clear CLAT but excel in it is the target you have to achieve.
8) Don't get nervous and anxious. Keep your mind stable.

The pattern of both of the exams are very different. You will have to prepare separately for any of the exam and you can prepare for only one of the exam not for both.

The best time to begin Xavier's Aptitude Test preparation is May or June. If students start XAT preparation in May, they will have about seven months to study in a holistic manner. The Pathfinder covers all the syllabus that you need for your NDA Entrance Exam and has a lot of sample questions and previous year question papers and all the resources you will need to clear the NDA Entrance Exam. Sometimes KSET exam covers a wide range from all topics and may the NCERT book will not cover the topics in depth. Therefore, the candidates are advised to go through the detailed books and other study materials. Additionally solving previous years' question papers are taking mock tests can also be helpful in preparing for the KSET exam.</p>

The candidates can revise from the Lucent books but additional information is required for the UPPSC exam.
