<p>Only Lucent General Knowlegde book is not enough for the UPPSC exam but it is a good book for revision purpose. The candidates can revise from the Lucent books but additional information is required for the UPPSC exam. The factual information provided in the Lucent book can be very useful for the prelims exam.</p>

Keep your basic concepts of core subjects clear. Try solving the application based questions. GATE questions level is not very tough and easy to get through if you are sound with your concepts. Practice through writing tests. As the exam is nearing do revise the concepts and take tests.

Hi Himanshu,
You can start by taking a mock test and get yourself acclimatized with the test, you will also know topics you need to revise, your weakness and also your strengths. Prepare your study routine accordingly. 3-5 months is enough, if you devote yourself regularly and stick to your routine. Take as many mock tests you can after regular intervals and track your progress.

Believe me, it is a bit easier on you now. When I gave the JEE last year, Board marks were counted too for Mains. So, we had to manage between both the preparations compulsorily. Board marks, apart from the 75% eligibility has no direct impact on JEE Advanced. So, I assume you wish to score great in Boards because you want a good, untainted academic record.
