Yes, you can change the same after 1st semester or even after 1st year because 1st year is mostly common in engineering for all branches.
CS and ECE are two domains playing a crucial role the present digital world. ECE deals with electronics, some of electrical subjects and communication subjects. Colleges provide some of the computer courses in ECE like C, DSA, CO, OS, SE, DBMS etc. It is similar with CS domain also you can find some of the ECE subjects in addition with CS subjects in under graduation program. But if we look according to placement category, students from CS domain will get placed faster because of their knowledge in software sector. Since ECE students will also have good knowledge in their sector as well as some basic knowledge in software field but not as ... View more

Salary Package: Though the avg package is around 4 lacs, ( Which is decent, if not good. Its hardly 8 yr old private institute. You won't get even this in most pvt colleges. Remember even big pvt institutes like VIT call 5lac package a dream package) The minimum is around 3.2lac and maximum of 2015-16 is around 24lacs.
So if you can stand out among the crowd you can easily score a nice package. Opportunities are tremendous.
IIT delhi obviously

Chethan, both have equal scope abroad. CSE has ample scope in countries like the US. But ECE is successful in countries like Germany, Japan etc.
So, which ever branch you go for both have ample opportunities. Go for a good university that is going to give you good placement too.
These days private universities have brought about a phenomenal change in the field of education and have made their presence felt with good facilities and good placements for students. You can give them a try too.
Both CSE and ECE are good branches with similar opportunities. ECE is core branch of engineering and you can work in Electronics, Telecommunications and IT industry. Therefore, in order to have wider choices to opt after 4 years, I will recommend NSIT ECE over IIIT CSE.

Hello Vishakha, it's very nice to hear from you that you are interested in doing your diploma from the government polytechnic in Mumbai. I am afraid that I could not find any supporting information on this issue. It could be that government entities are not interested in prescribing any cutoff for any courses. You must apply immediately online.
Best wishes to you.
