After completing class 10th you can go for diploma in computer science. After diploma, get direct admission in 2nd year, B.Tech in computer science. You can also join coaching classes in class 12th to compete for entrance exams like IIT JEE. IIT is a prestigious institute for engineering courses.

There is no mandatory requirement to study computers prior joining B.Tech. In computer science, you only need to have science stream with mathematics. As an optional subject, you can take any course of your choice with physical education, any literature language like French, German or computers.
I hope it helps.

Management & IT Consultant,

Top engineering colleges do not give direct admission. You are advised to appear for Engineering Entrance Examinations to seek admission in top engineering college for B.Tech CS. You may try private universities such as Amity which provide direct admission to meritocratic students with exceptional marks in 10+2 board.

B.Tech CSE syllabus has more emphasis on Computational Science theory and systems engineering, Whereas B.Tech IT syllabus has more emphasis on Application Programming. B.Tech CSE is the most preferred branch of students. CSE gets the best talent at entrance level. Indian IT industry prefers CSE over IT graduates.

Your choice is good but without mathematics, it is not successful in electrical or computer engineer. A few knowledge in mathematics and you can get big success as mathematics has a role in writing the program.

It depends on which university or college you graduate from, what your scores are, where you interned, and how wide spread your network is in college. If your scores are really good and you know the right people, you will face no problem in finding a good job for yourself. So, to answer your question, the job opportunities depend completely on you and your hard work.

Hi Arfhad,
UK degrees are valuable and recognised in India however if you are talking about a 1-year MS degree course you will be in trouble. If it's a Bachelors degree, you need not worry.

Hi Santhosh!
The best university for B.Tech CSE is IIT Bombay. But, if you have not appeared for JEE exams then the best among private universities is BITS, Pilani or VIT.
Other than these, SRM is good for CSE. For all these universities, you have to write separate entrance exams and get qualified with a decent score.
Or, else try for some good universities with your board exam scores.
All the best!

You will be eligible to stay and look for a job in the US under OPT scheme for 12 months. If it is a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) course you will be eligible for STEM OPT which is 36 months. CSE is usually a STEM course. In order to get a good job, you should have good skills, qualifications and academic performance. Overall, USA is a very competitive country.

There are many wings help to settle down your career.
You may go for either higher studies or adopt professional courses/certifications.
I need to know your interest first. Would you prefer Software (Software development, Testing, Mobile App development) or IT Infrastructure (Cloud computing, Networking, IT system, SQL DBA)?
Also, Robotics, GIS, Cyber forensics are in high demand.

Engineer | Author,

The economy in Canada is booming, and due to the shortage of skilled professionals, you have a fair chance to land a good job. Also, work permits granted to international students after studies is a golden opportunity.
Some students manage to get hired during their internship. You must, however, remember that you must look for a job yourself. Minimum salary may be around C$1,700 per month depending on your credentials, and the job profile.

CSE would be a wider option for you though software is a part of computer science and will not be so vast. CS would be more suited if looking for thesis or research. Software engineering will be more suited for job opportunities.

Hello,
Yes, it is absolutely worth to do a CS degree in Canada depending on the university you choose. Since Canada is a permanent residency oriented country, you will get 2-3 years of stay back & ideally if your performance/GPA is good enough with decent recommendations from your teachers (from a Canadian university), you may end up getting a decent salary of 50-80000 Cd$ annually.
