Educator at University,

Dear Vaibhav, I would like to suggest you that both BBA and B.Com have their own merits. It depends entirely on your interest before choosing either of the courses. If making a career in management is your priority, then you should go for BBA as it is the foundation of management and has been specifically designed for MBA aspirants. B.Com on the other hand, is much more diversified and has a wider scope for specialisation for post-graduate study. Thus, it is advisable to first chalk out your skills, aptitude and area of interest before taking up any of the courses. Instead of looking at the money-making aspect while choosing a course, it i... Depends on your strengths, likings and interests. First analyze your strengths then start thinking about your future goals and then decide which course to pursue BBA will help you in a job quickly although after both courses you are eligible to sit for govt. exams.
I recommend you BBA and B.Com course in Doon Business School, Dehradun which is in existence for 12 years as of now. The fees is reasonable and placements are decent enough compared to others in North India. Good luck.

Hi Arpit,
The best options in front of you after a B.Com (honors) are:
1. MBA finance from a reputed B-School which has 100% campus recruitment. You need to appear for CAT or similar exams for that. Its of no use to waste 10 to 20 lakhs INR in an ordinary MBA college as they are abundant in the country nowadays. Most students passing out from ordinary MBA colleges are either remaining unemployed or working for 5 to 10k salaried jobs. So if it is an MBA, it must be from an IIM or similar ranked B-school.
2. You may go for Indian Professional Accounting Course like CA/ICWA. However, get ready to study hard for the next 3 to 5 ye... View more

It’s good that you want to make your career in the IT field. I have a MCA degree too, so if you are just looking for a degree, you can go ahead and do BCA, but if you are want to get a good job in the IT sector, then BCA will not be enough. An organisation needs an experienced candidate. In order to get a good job, you should also opt for certifications like cisco, Microsoft and oracle. If you are interested in networking, opt for CCNA course.
