In terms of salary just after BSc , they are almost equivalent.
But in my opinion CS definitely has the edge because of wider range of opportunities and job available . With CS you can also enter into the highly lucrative area of Data Mining (salaries in crores if you go abroad). you can go for higher education MSc PhD.
IT graduates also earn a lot(similar to CS)but the problem is many Indian universities don't take IT degree for higher education. Computer networking is a sub-part of Computer Science Engineering. Computer Science Engineering covers Computer Networking, Computer Architecture, Object Oriented Programming languages, Compiler Design, Deatabase Management, Computer Graphics besides many others. Both B.Tech CSE & IT degrees are equally good. CSE graduates have a minor edge over IT graduates. Every engineering college gets best students in CSE because of demand. CSE graduates get both Apps and System development job. Indian IT industry give only Apps development job to IT graduates. B.Tech CSE graduates may also get little better CTC in comparison to IT graduates if they are from reputed Engineering colleges.

You should go for IT filed because now a days, IT is best and few days ago government announce to invest 11000 crore for IT filed because of development in IT. To get computer knowledge, you can go for computer classes.

Having an average package of 11 LPA, Jadavpur University is ranked 2nd in West Bengal lagging behind in IIT-Kharagpur and ranked 1 on the basis of return of the investment.
It's a state government university. If you have the above options then no doubt IITs are far better. Join IIT (ISM) Dhanbad as it is an old IIT. My friends are there, they will help you out. All the mentioned colleges are good.
