However, Manipal is better than UPES.
I also had almost same rank as you 1578 (AIR_OBC). I will suggest you to select NITK Surathkal IT. Even CSE at Allahabad is also a very good option if you are from UP. So if you want to stay near to home then go for CSE at NIT Allahabad otherwise come to NITK, Surathkal in IT.
I would suggest you to opt for ECE from Jaypee-Noida as this is the far better than Solan in terms of placements.
BCA is a degree, which teach you about various applications of computer. If you choose B.Tech in computer science, then you will learn the engineering part of a computer.
According to me and my research, IT has proven to be better choice, and cloud computing is now days a boom in IT sector, but considering the struggle, you must have a thought to it.
