The admission fees for BCom in last year were Rs. 23,900 for morning and Rs. 38,000 for evening department. These are the fee one has to pay at the time of admission, it includes 1st quarter fees also. And, this year, it will also remain almost same. Yes, but you have to apply to change application and that is only done in March/ April admission period, irrespective of the college and or university. So, the loss or the disadvantage is that you waste a year, however do something that you are passionate about, even if an year gets wasted, instead of repenting later of having a degree, career that is actually not your cup of tea, and then no zeal of getting into it. Talk to your university official clearly about it, and they will surely guide.

As the admission criteria are different in every college, you will have to inquire in each college that you are interested in. There are some colleges that would allow admission to commerce students as maths is the only mandatory subject that one should have in 10+2 and graduation in order to qualify for MCA.

As for now, it appears that admission to all the colleges under DU offering B.Com or B.Com (Hons) will be done on the basis of entrance examination. However, nothing much about the same has been mentioned on the official website.

To secure admission to UG programs, the candidate should have cleared 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised Board. Candidates belonging to General category should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks. A candidate can apply to the courses offered at IGNOU either online or offline. However, a candidate must note that IGNOUs online admission system is activated only for Indian Nationals. Admission to a majority of the courses is granted on the basis of merit.
