PGDCA is a Post Graduate Diploma Course in Computer Applications programme. The programme provides overall proficiency to the students in both hard and soft skills. The programme is especially designed to enable the students to pursue a junior developer career in the field of IT. As market is full of B.Tech CS/IT, MCA and M.Sc CS/IT, BCA graduates PGCDA is not a good qualification for a meaningful career in IT industry. You may have to gain additional qualification for a good IT career.
If you had computer papers in B.Sc then you are eligible to seek admission in M.Sc CS in the majority of universities but if you did not have CS as subjects in B.Sc your choice of universities will be lesser. It will better for you to do MCA which had wider acceptance.

Hi,
You can consider the following options in fields like CA, CS, CFA, ICWA , Law, Design ,IT, architecture, actuary, Media, Management, Hospitality, Academics, Public relations, Mass communication, BCA and Social Work, etc. The choice depends on whether you want to get into commerce related field, Science related (if you have Science in 12th) or you may want to get into BCA (infomatics related). The opportunities are good in any of these fields. Be clear of your long term goal in life, the career that suits your personality most and what your strengths are and then decide on the course you wish to pick. I hope this helps.
All the best.
In terms of salary just after B.Sc, they are almost equivalent.
But in my opinion, CS definitely has the edge because of a wider range of opportunities and job available. With CS you can also enter into the highly lucrative area of Data Mining (salaries in crores if you go abroad). you can go for higher education M.Sc Ph.D.
IT graduates also earn a lot(similar to CS)but the problem is many Indian universities don't take IT degree for higher education. Research fields are limited (they are wide of course but I am talking wrt CS). Also, thanks to the stigma attached to technical degrees IT B.Tech are more preferred vis a vis IT B.Sc... View more
Hi, Coding/Programming is a passion. Someone should be very passionate about coding and programming. I have seen many people who started their early career as coder but over the years they started loosing the interest. I would suggest to become a good coder you have to work on live projects. If possible you should work under a professional guidance. One more key point to remember is to keep you updated with the latest technology is very important. Technology is changing rapidly and you have to run accordingly.
Hello Patel Kamal,
If you are really interested in your field, then you should go further in it. You can pursue M.Sc in computer science or integrated M.Sc and Ph.D.
Computer science is really good option for your career.

The top trending tech, for example, was React, a JavaScript library that's relatively new to the market.
Having been officially launched in 2013, Reacts 311.3 percent growth in usage was, according to the survey, by far the biggest year-to-year spike. Comparing that number with more ... View more
