Firstly, try to focus on class 12th boards, because it is the most important prerequisite of any course or any other competitive exam. After that, try to discover in which field you are interested in. You'll surely come out of confusion. And, don't be under the dilemma that some course has less scope than the other. Every field you mentioned has equal scope. What's important is your interest.

After B.Sc Maths, some of the graduates study further for research, while most of the others are employed in finance, investment analyst, and adviser or chartered or certified accountant.
After B.Tech in ME, you may get jobs from companies like PWD, DRDO, Indian Navy as a Mechanical Engineer or Assistant Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer or Quality Control Executive.
Both degrees offer you enough scope to find a job and give you sufficient exposure to the challenging world, it's totally up to you to choose a path and follow it.

Either he may go for a job or higher study. I suggest him to do at least PG. It will give him a great satisfaction and respect in the life then if he wants, the best is to go for Ph.D. If he qualifies JRF, he will get INR 12000-14000 as a research scholarship for a maximum period of 5 years until he completes Ph.D. If he wants to do a job then there are vacancies for Bank PO and Staff Selection Commision, NDA, CDS, but don't go for a private job at this stage.

After completing your B.Sc in Mathematics, you could pursue a course in M.Sc Astronomy from some of the top colleges in India. This would open up a number of avenues for you in this field. B.Sc. in Mathematics should help you as Mathematics is a major part of astronomy and space research. If needed, you could plan for a PhD in astronomy and become a teacher in this field.
