Bannari Amman Institute of Technology admission  is primarily Merit-Based and Entrance-Based. Students are selected on the basis of various national-level entrance tests, like TANCET, Joint Entrance Examination Main, JEE Advanced, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, etc. and merit scores. However, TNEA cutoff for the general category is stated to be 13,079 - 19,768 rank. The TNEA cutoff for the OC category is 13,079 - 22,440 rank.

Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BAIT) has good placement rates for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The highest package for ECE is 24 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. Other branches with high packages include Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Civil Engineering (CE).

 Bannari Amman Institute of Technology in 2023, the top recruits included:  Amazon, Flipkart, TCS Ninja, Virtusa, TVS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Accenture, ICICI Bank. 
 In 2023, the college extended over 1,900 offers, including over 400 dream offers. Junior Research Fellows at the college get the most money, at 42.8 lakhs per year.
