There are fewer chances for you to get admission in any of the IIMs until you have graduated from any IIT and have work experience in any of the most valuable industry.

Hello! All the reputed MBA colleges across India consider CAT and/or other entrance exam scores for the admissions of their MBA/PGDM programs. So it's mandatory to give CAT and/or other exams.

Hi Smit, Just like the way every student from every other undergraduate domain gets into Iims - by writing CAT and acing it. As a B.Com student, I believe that you must be thinking that you are at a disadvantage because you are up against a lot of engineers in the country. So Yes, If you score more than 90 percentile - you can get admission in IIM even with Commerce background. Although 85 percentile might get chance in the last cutoff - but you should target for 90 plus to be sure of getting through.

Hi Sparsh,
90th percentile is not that difficult a target to achieve. Based on last year's paper, if a student had attempted ~25 questions in Verbal, ~12 in DILR and ~20 in Quant, he/she would have scored 90th percentile in each. With good preparation of fundamentals and rigorous practice, this is a very achievable target. I am going to jot down a few critical things to keep in mind while preparing.

Try to take some coaching from nearby CAT coaching centres. They will help you a lot in preparation.

Hi Sawan, MBA Admissions do not consider your previous Academic records (marks). Normally 80 percentile and above has a good chance of getting through. 75 percentile plus for the reserved categories. Look for Other colleges besides the top ones.

It's kind of similar, but not exactly same. You might find same genres of sections, some may be clubbed or separate. But CAT in general is tougher than a PO exam. So, practice hard for CAT you might end up clearing the PO exam atleast.
