Mechanical Engineering is evergreen branch of Engineering. Different branches have tier lows & highs but in last 6 decades charm of Mechanical branch has remain high. CSE is now days a prime branch because of the highest job opportunities since late 90s. Slowly charm of branch is fading because of outcry against outsourcing in West. Job opportunities in CSE are tied to Western Economy and political pressures. With availability of large pool of CS resources in market, average salaries have gone down. Also IT industry requires only junior resource to compete in low rate competition. However availability of number of jobs are still the highest among all branch. However it is suggested that you take a branch based on your interest to do well in career.
