No, it is not compulsary. Students can stay in rooms or other hostels outside the college campus. But MMU hostel provide good facilities for both girls and boys. There may be shared rooms or single room it is upto student wish.  The average fee for hostel is 1 lakh to 2 lakh per year for both male and female. So according to their financial issues, one can choose to stay either in campus hostel or outside the campus hostel.
