For admission, candidates first have to fill an application form. Portfolio and SOP submission is compulsory for admission. Based on these two, the university releases list of selected students for next phase. In phase II, there are two tests. A Studio Test followed by Interview. Candidates who clear both phases are selected.

Aspirants need to pass entrance exam only for BFA course of MIT School of Fine Arts & Applied Arts. Candidates must have PERA CET or MAH-AAC-CET scores for admission. For MFA and certificate courses, aspirants have to directly come for personal interview and portfolio review round.

The minimum aggregate in Graduation should be 50%. For SC/ST/OBC/EWS, minimum 45% aggregate is required. Admission process includes two phases. Candidates who perform well in both are selected. Phase I selection is based on Portfolio and SOP. Phase II selection depends on performance in Studio Test followed by Interview.

As per official website, cutoffs for admission are not available. The university decides the cutoff and minimum score in Phase I & II. Candidates who clear Phase I can appear for Phase II. Phase II is conducted in Pune campus. Phase I selection is based on Portfolio and SOP submitted by applicant. The final selection in course depends on the overall performance in both phases.
