AIT has a structured intake of 480 seats, spread across the five branches of engineering that the college specialises in. The limited intake ensures that the student-to-faculty ratio is well managed, allowing students the best of individual attention and laboratory facilities. 

There are no traditional caste-based or socio-economic reservations for these courses. Since the institute is exclusively for the wards of Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel, no other reservation is entertained. Seat distribution at AIT is as follows:

• Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and Electronics & Telecommunication: 120 seats each
• Mechanical Engineering, Automation & Robotics Engineering: 60 seats each.
