NIT Surathkal BTech admissions are offered on an entrance basis. The institute accepts only those who clear the admission criteria given below:
Eligibility - Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics as mandatory subjects + Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subjects/ Biology as one of the subjects + a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates)
Selection Process - JEE Mains + JoSAA/ CSAB

Usually, students cannot change the GBPUAT Exam centre after submitting the form. In special cases, they can contact the admission office. So, select the exam centre carefully when filling the Pantnagar University Application form.

The counselling process is for students who qualify for the GBPUAT Entrance exam. Then they need to pass the cutoff as well. During the counselling process, students need to accept their seat and pay the seat acceptance fee. It is suggested to prepare all the important documents in advance.

Students have to submit some documents for NIT Surathkal admissions and applications. Thhe list is as below:
- Admission order issued by Competent Authority.
- Original marks card of qualifying examinations (First to Final Year).
- Bachelor's Degree Certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate issued by the University
- Course completion certification from the college (if qualifying degree exam result are awaited)
- Original Score Card of valid CAT or MAT or CMAT.
- Date of Birth Certificate
- Certificate by employer ascertaining the duration of work experience.
- Caste Certificate in case of SC/ST/OBC.

The seats are allotted to candidates based on their NEET rank via Maharashtra NEET Counselling. Once the seat is allotted, aspirants need to report at the college campus for document verification and fee payment.

Aspirants need to pass NEET for admission to MBBS programme of Government Medical College, Buldhana. In 2025, NEET closing cutoff was 21134 for All India General category students. The cutoff is moderately competitive. However, larger number of applicants and limited seats makes the admission process competitive for students.
