Hello, colleges do not encourage students to change branch after getting admission. But theoretically it is possible to change branch when one passes the first ear and enters the second year of engineering. Depends on how you have performed in your first year and also if there are vacancies in your desired branch. You should approach the administrative staff of the college for knowing the details of the procedure.

As per year 2020 cutoff of Thiagarajar College of Engineering for B.Tech CSE, the last admitted rank was 2715 with aggregate marks of 190 under the asked category, While for IT the last admitted rank this was 4529. So you have few chances in IT. You may tryout the management quota seats if available there.
