The selection criteria for the B.E./B.Tech course at Solamalai College of Engineering are as follows:
Eligibility: To have passed Class 12 with aggregate percentage of at least 45% each in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Entrance Exam: Admissions are made through the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) process, based mainly on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination.
Counseling Process: A counseling process takes place where the seat so alloted is based on merit, availability after candidates aspire to that course.
Direct Admission: There would also be management quota for direct admission to suitably qualified students.

For admission to Tata-Dhan Academy (TDA, Madurai), applicants must submit the following documents: Certificate of passing 10th & 12th class with 90% & 85 % respectively, Bachelor degree pass certificate & mark-sheet having minimum 50 % marks, Valid CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT score card, Work experience certificate if any, Identity proof in the form of Aadhaar/ PAN card, Income certificate to avail scholarship, Disability certificate if any, Transfer certificate, Migration certificate and five passport size photographs. Also, for the course there is an online application form which will cost between INR 500-1000 and an entrance exam hall ticket.

Like most other centres of Tata-Dhan Academy, the one in Madurai too has claimed very high placement statistics. Every year more than 95% of students securing Post Graduate Diploma in Development Management and Community Health Management pass out with placements. Major recruiting agencies are Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Child In Need Institute, DHAN Foundation, etc.

Madhurai Kamaraj University cutoff 2024 has been released across MBA and MCA specialisations. Based on the Last Round seat allotment, the MBA cutoff score for Sourashtra College, Senthil Kumar Nadar College Virudhunagar, and Fatima College stood at 6269, 5274, and 4316, respectively, in the General AII India category students. Among all the MCA specialisations, the American College, Sri Meenakshi Government Arts College For Women, and Fatima College (FC Madurai) has the cutoff score of 495, 1174, and 1268,  is the most competitive specialisation. Considering the TANCET cutoff scores, we can easily see that, for MBA, having a score of 2000 is not enough to get into Madhurai Kamaraj University's affiliated colleges. However, with a score of 2000, candidates can avail MCA in affilated colleges of MKU.
