NIT Surat can be expensive for some students as the total tuition fee for BTech course is INR 5 Lakh. The university offers scholarships to those under financial strain. The availability of the scholarships matter on academic performance of the candidate, financial need, and community service done by the student. A few scholarships are also provided on the basis of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

SVNIT Surat offers scholarships as financial assistance to students. There are both need-based and merit-scholarships available. Some of the scholarships offered at SVNIT Surat are as follows:

SVNIT provides various facilities such as well-equipped labs, library, classroom, complex which are recently constructed and are of a high standard, canteens, hostels, post office in front of the main GATE of SVNIT, the institute has a developed an effective security system for students safety. SVNIT also has a dispensary inside the campus for both students and staff of the college. The college has a well-equipped canteen located behind the Central Library. NIT Surat has one bank and two ATMs at the campus.

The formula to calculate CGPA in VNSGU is CGPA = (grade points obtained in a course of the last two semesters of programme X credit)/ total credits of the course of the last two semesters of the programme. It is given at the end of each programme i.e. at 6th sem if the programme has 6 semesters.
