In the second phase of engineering counselling, the best colleges may have fewer seats as top colleges often fill in the first phase. You can still get good options, but choices depend on your rank, category, and available seats.

With an SC rank of 12,000, admission to Computer Science (CS) depends on the counselling authority, total seats, and reservation policies.
Top NITs/IIITs: Unlikely, as CSE usually requires much lower ranks.
Lower-tier NITs, GFTIs, or state colleges: You may have a good chance.
Consider other branches like ECE, IT, or EE as backups to secure admission.

With a KCET rank of 52,000 for BE Computer Science & Engineering, getting into top Karnataka colleges (like RVCE, PES, BMSCE, MSRIT) is highly unlikely, as these usually require ranks within top 1,000–3,000.
You can consider:
Lower-tier NITs/Private colleges in Karnataka
State colleges with available CSE seats in later counselling rounds
Other branches like ECE, IT, or Mechanical as backup.

Chandigarh University has seen strong placements for its CSE students with Robotics and AI specialisation. The course connects both software and automation fields, which opens more job options. Students get placed in big IT firms, research companies, and technology startups. Companies like Amazon, Deloitte, Infosys, and SAP Labs often recruit from the university. Many students also get training and internship offers that later turn into full-time jobs. The placement drive includes both national and international companies offering competitive packages. CU provides dedicated placement training, coding tests, and mock interviews which he

For B.E in CSE, Chandigarh University is really amazing and placement rate is 100%. The placements are top- notch as MNCs like Google, Accenture, Deloitte, HP, Flipkart, Wipro, and Samsung visit the campus. CU trains students from day one through its Career Planning and Development Department (DCPD) with resume building, mock interviews, GDs, and more. Each department has also a placement coordinator and faculty support to guide students. The university has tie-ups and collaborations with KPIT, Capgemini, Virtusa, IBM, Oracle, Intel, and CISCO etc.

In 2025, the closing rank for M.Tech CSE at IIITM Gwalior under general category for all India quota was 529. Likewise, the cut off ranks for OBC AI quota was 486 for the CSE specialisation. Students should aim for atleast a score of 529 or higher to secure admissions at IIIT Gwalior for M.Tech CSE. Though the exact cutoff may vary depending on the number of candidates appearing for the examination, the difficulty level, past year trend cycle, etc.

I have not heard any cons about the CSE programme at Chandigarh University. I have only heard about the pros and some of them are:
The engineering department offers different courses like CSE and CSE with specializations. Students can choose elective subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, and Internet of Things.
The university has soo modern campus, big buildings, labs and library. There are special research centers and tie-ups with big companies.
The department has top-class labs like the Microsoft Innovation Centre, IBM Software Lab, Virtusa Robotics & Automation Center, and
