A valid NEET score is required for admission to Nilamber Pitambar University's Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET-PG) is recognised by Nilamber Pitambar University (NPU) as the primary entrance exam for admission to its Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programs. In order to be eligible for MDS courses, candidates must pass the nationwide Board of Examinations (NBE) NEET-PG, a nationwide exam. No MBBS is not needed for BDS. 

BDS is a UG course focused on Dental education and training but MBBS is about medical education with a broader focus on general medicine and surgery.

Both are different courses with different curriculum and career paths. 

Yes, a BDS course is considered a professional doctorate in the field of dentistry. 

Individuals who complete the BDS course are known as dentists or dental surgeons. While they may not be medical doctors (i.e., physicians), dentists are doctors in the sense that they hold a doctoral-level degree in their field and are licensed healthcare professionals trained to diagnose and treat oral health issues. 

They are qualified to perform various dental procedures, including dental examinations, fillings, extractions, root canals, and other treatments related to oral health and hygiene.

No BDS needs NEET. If candidates do not have NEET eligibility they cannot enrol in BDS.
