Admissions to a majority of courses offered at Gujarat University colleges are based on merit. However, for few courses, the University also conducts entrance exams and accept other national-level entrance exam scores. The university offers over 300+ courses at UG, PG and PhD level including BA, MA, BSc, etc. Apart from the degree courses, aspirants can also pursue Diploma and certificate courses. Gujarat University also offers study abroad courses.

The eligibility criteria for admission to all the undergraduate and postgraduate programme is different at Gujarat University. As per the basic eligibility criteria for admission to UG programmes, the candidates must have qualified class 12 or equivalent exam with a minimum of fifty percent aggregate.
While for Gujarat University admission to PG programmes candidates must have completed graduation with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate in the relevant discipline.

Students who have completed their class 12 from any board and have scored atleast 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for BA course in Central University of Gujarat. After applying they are required to apply for CUET-UG as university grants admission on the basis of CUET-UG results.Results for CUET-UG are expected to be announced in Jul’23. Any graduate who has passed or appearing for the final year degree examination in any discipline (Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering or any approved University) is eligible to apply. Candidates must have mathematics as a subject in their 10+2 course or any one year graduation.
