Candidates applying to a MSc course in IIT Patna must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. Thus, aspirant must hold a valid bachelor's degree in a relevant stream for at least two years (four semesters) and a minimum aggregate between 55% and 80% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.
For MSc cognitive science/economic courses, the accepted degrees are BA/BSc/BCom/BTech/BE/BStat/BMath or equivalent. The total course fee for MSc course is around INR 60,000.

Commerce students are eligible to apply to IIT Patna's BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) program. Additionally, in order to be eligible for the BBA program at IIT Patna, students must meet certain scholastic requirements, which include completing their 10+2 coursework and, if not, passing any accredited board exams. However, the primary need is that students receive roughly 60% in their 10+2 standards.
