IIT Ropar BTech four-year total fee is inclusive of various components such as the tuition fee, hostel and mess fee, student welfare fund, training and placement, etc. In the following table, the amount for some of the components is mentioned:

Most of the IITs now offer Direct Phd as well as Phd after your masters. For direct Phd: After completing your Bachelors degree in relevant field you are required to appear a National Level Competitive Exam (GATE, JAM, CSIR etc). with 75% marks in bachelors or a CGPA of 7.5 or above. Admission After Master's degree in Engineering/Technology (ME/MS/MTech) with minimum 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.5 or equivalent. Master's degree in science (MSc) with minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 or equivalent with NET (CSIR/UGC) or GATE score.
