Hi, in my opinion, the right order is:
BIT Mesra
IIEST Shibpur
NIT Bhopal
NIT Kurukshetra
Jadavpur University
NIT Durgapur
Though the rankings keep on varying. So decide accordingly.

After JEE Advanced, the procedure is quite simple! Just wait for the results to come. Once the results are out, there will befilling up of choices online. Then comes the mock seat allocation, in this process you will get to know which seat you will get according to your preferences. Then you will have 1 day time to change your choices if you want. Then the first round seat allocation takes place. Now comes the main part, document verification. You need to go to the nearest IIT and get your documents verified. If all your documents are verified, then your seat will be confirmed. Congrats.
The procedure is same for NITs too. Hope this ans

It is slightly difficult but you can NIT in the 5th or 6th round in eastern states (not with very good branch). You can try for IIITs- it will be better. But if your home state is HP, WB, or Madhya Pradesh, you can get NIT easily through HS quota.
For OBC, this is a good rank and can land you to some good NIT with good branches too.
Attempt the counselling wisely with someone's advice.
Good luck.

It looks difficult to get admission into NITs for that branch.
The cutoffs for the esteemed institutes are determined by the following factors:
1. The number of applicants who have applied for the exam.
2. The difficulty level of the exam.
3. The cut off of the previous year.
4. The number of seats available
Please refer to the previous years opening and closing ranks for more information: https://josaa.nic.in/webinfocms/Public/View.aspx?page=71
All the best!

If you are interested in both metallurgy and civil, then it is better to join metallurgy in NIT WARANGAL because you will have a chance after first year to slide to civil and if you are not able to slide, even then you are in a branch of your interest.
