For admission to DoMS,NITT only CAT score is considered . So unless you have written CAT and have a valid score you cannot apply.

Cut off depends on the number of applications we recieve , so u can apply as your cat percentile is defendable if u perform good in gd/pi , all the best

Its quiet difficult to get call for your score, but the selection process is dynamic and varies every year , so u can give a try , good luck

Definitely, you can expect a call from NIT Trichy and to get selected (90% chance). But before considering NIT, consider all these B-Schools:
1. IIT Madras.
2. BIM Trichy
3. IRMA Anand.
4. BITS Pilani.
5. Nirma University - Ahmedabad.
6. We School – Mumbai.
Since you fall under NC-OBC category you should probably consider IIT Madras and IRMA Anand because you got a bright chance in both these Top Tier colleges.

As of now NITT considers only CAT score for its MBA programme. MAT score is not considered.

Getting a call for 78.22 wouldn't be difficult . Since there are many new IIM's in the picture its likely that the cutoffs in NITT would also be reduced as a result. So do apply.
