The teaching in PES is wonderful. Excluding some faculties, rest are very efficient and supportive. The class room teaching is very effective here. You can rely on the classroom teaching for your semesters.
The fee is a bit high. For category A (which fills first) is Rs. 100000 per semester and for category B (which fills after category A is filled) its is Rs. 300000 per year.

PESU was previously known as PESIT as far as I know. By PESIT if you mean the South Campus then it is better to take admission in the main campus (I.e., PESU) .

It should depend on the branch you get in these universities. If you can get CSE or IT in Manipal then go for it. After this, go for PES. Do not opt for any other branch than CSE or ECE in PES University. After this, some lower branches can be considered in Manipal. Also, the campus of Manipal is way better than that of PES. I feel (being in PES) you can get a better exposure to startups in PES than in Manipal.

Yes, you can know about PES University. Just be more specific in what you want to know.
No doubt, VIT is better in terms of course fee as VIT has 3 categories for admission and the fee increment is also gradual whereas in PES there are only 2 categories for admission and the fee increment is absurd (among the categories).
For the placements, I would say PES stands ahead of VIT. Being a first-year student have much idea about the placements.

Well, I don't think that's going to happen because PES has a track record of 100% placements for B.Tech, especially for CSE. In spite of that, if you don't get a job then either you should apply for off-campus placements in various companies or go for higher studies like MBA, etc.

I don't know much about MBA but hostel is not mandatory. It is difficult to get a hostel in the college as there are less number of rooms available in the hostel. The general class timings are 8.15 AM to 3.30 PM (these timings are for B.Tech and may vary a bit for the MBA course).

If you take admission through PESSAT, there are 2 categories:
A with a fee of Rs. 90000 per year and category B with a fee of Rs. 300000 per year (from 2017). If you take admission through CET (only for Karnataka students) then the fee is Rs. 90000 per year. If you qualify none of the above then there is a management quota fee for which is Rs. 6 lakh per year for the CS branch and lower for other branches. Please remember that these are only the tuition fee. Hostel fee is separate.
You need not qualify JEE Mains for admission in this college. If you are from outside Karnataka, the college conducts its own exam (PESSAT) which you need to
