To get admission into bachelor's degree a student must pass 10+2 from any recognized board with minimum 55%.
After graduation you may go for diploma courses in Forensic Science & Criminology which is of 1 year duration.

If you wish to become a specialist who conducts post-mortems on dead bodies to find out the cause of death, you must first secure an MBBS degree and then go for an MD in Forensic Science.

- Government organizations that recruit forensic criminologists are railways, banks, forensic labs, armed force department, insurance companies etc.
- With relevant experience, you can set up your own private detective agency to perform operations.

Salary :
The salary of a forensic science expert may differ from one institution to other depending on the position one is working in.
Those professionals who are working in government sector will have a fixed salary and other benefits whereas the salary for a private detective may vary on the basis of the cases they are handling.
